No Input Signal on Startup

Hello,

I recently started using my older desktop running vista because my laptop had been acting up and I'm encountering a problem booting my computer.

I had used a forced shutdown to get off the frozen screen and now after trying multiple times to boot, all I get is "No input signal" and then the monitor goes to sleep. All of the startup noises the computer normally makes before it finishes booting are happening, and I've tried restarting and replugging all of the monitor's cables.

This was an issue a few months ago as well...the computer usually starts working after being shutdown for a day or two, and then it will start acting up again a few weeks later.

Hmmm, this is a hardware issue most likely.

Its going to be difficult to diagnos if you haven't got extra parts.... Does it beep at all?

One thing I would try, only because it's happened to me before....

If it has a dedicated video card( not a built in one ) pull it out, and put it back in. I had an issue one where it had loosened itself up after a long amount of time and wasn't snug in the slot.
It may help, and it may not, but it something to try before thinking about spending any money.

If it froze before it happened, that may not be a good sign though.
