Hi

I reinstalled vista and just done a full computer scan, and got an infection on a file called taskmgr.exe(no idea what that is) when i looked at file location i noticed it said windows.old. so im assuming that its the old version causing problems as my computer starts really slowly and some of the problems I reinstalled vista for are still there. so can i delete the old windows, and would it cause me any problems if i do that.

Thankyou in advance

Yes, you should remove windows.old, but be sure that you have all your documents etc. It is there to restore your documents etc. I will show you how to delete, with this great tutorial.

The problem with your computer, if it does not improve after deleting .old), is that you should always do a clean install, not a upgrade or repair. In addition the virus has probably spread to your newly installed system.

With that virus, I suggest a clean install with format.
