Just a couple of things....

Well, first off, i can't rename my folders. I can my files. I have full ownership and tried the reg fix. Still nothing.

Secondly, I've managed to delete my public folders, and anything (MS Office) I try to install requires then in order to complete.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Like I said before, the fix doesn't work for me. I do exactly what it says, and restart, and nothing changes.

And the shadow copy didn't work either. This has been going on well over a month, and the only dates i have for restore are from the last 3 days.

I made a second post (above) concerning the folders. I anticipated that you had already tried that step.

If this does not work, in an attempt to find the missing documents, its because you waited too long. The more use the hard drive has the more difficult it becomes to recover deleted documents.

Try this
Right click on the folder then go to properties.. Under security select the adminstrator account. Check the box saying full control.
If you cannot change permissions, click advanced and then choose the owner tab. Select Adminstrator and press ok.

If none of that works try the hidden adminstrator, it may be able to rename the folders. For both Seven and Vista
Built-in Administrator Account - Enable or Disable - Windows 7 Forums

See if you can in safe mode.

let me just say i haven't tried the last step, just noticed something. I tried to change the folder name again, and it gives the error, "file does not exist." Thought that might be relevant.
