Any uploading of videos crashes pc

when i try to upload videos of any size my pc will get roughly 50-60% of it uploaded before it crashes my pc. ftp'ing, uploading to youtube, online storage to aws.amazon site all crashes.

i tried different browsers, with Norton firewall on/off, etc. i ran antivirus software etc. same thing. it seems to be a 'time expire' or file size thing as i am able to fully upload videos files if it takes, roughly, less than 30-40 seconds to complete.

i can't think of anything else at this point. i did do a registry check but used a back up file from months ago to see if i somehow effed up my registry files. same results.

any thoughts would be appreciated. incidentally, it doesn't matter what type of file wmv, avi, mpeg etc.

thanx,
alx

Lets try to get a handle on this thing
Try a clean boot
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in
Windows 7

Go to device manager check for yellow warning markers, make sure driver (especially graphics and audio are up to date)

When it happnes go to event viewer and look for errors from the administrative tab.

Check memory. Have enough? Check through task manager.

Run an sfc check

Check available space on HD.

richard,

i did everything you said EXCEPT:

Selective StartUp
Services with "Hide All Microsoft Services" unchecked

how do i approach doing this step? there are over 60 services some running, some not.
do i check off 5 or 10 at a time? or?

everything else i was able to do. still did not remove error (uploads crashing pc.)

i also did a SFC check. (which took 5 hours to complete)
memory is okay

i checked the Device Manager. the only drivers with yellow warning markers were some of the "Network Adapters" but i think those have always been like that. i don't think i use those drivers.

i haven't done a MalwareBytes scan yet as it keeps 'hangin up' on me. i did do a Norton scan and it did pick up and fix 43 errors.

Before anything can be done you must get rid of the errors that were found with the scan and any virus
Since we, now know that you are infected, make sure that you do a full anti virus scan and malwarebytes scan. Be sure that you update both first.
