System Restore Point - says there is no space but there is

My computer is telling me it has no system restore points. Which is making me nervous because its been acting up lately and I am worried about losing some of my data, etc. When I try to manually create a system restore point I get the error message "There is not enough space on the disk. (0x80070070)."

The thing is, this drive has 409 GB free. This is my C drive. My Gateway computer came with two drives - the other is recovery (D) and says there is no space available. But I am trying to create the restore point on my C drive.

Do I even need a restore point with the D recovery drive?

Any help would be much appreciated.

To see how much available for restore points
Go to start
In search type cmd
right click on cmd and run as administrator
type in cmd
vssadmin list shadowstorage
Your points are possibly not being created on the C drive.
I bet the restore is being made on D.

That recovery is necessary in case of major problems You can restore back to factory specs.

System Restore is enabled on C.

I followed the steps exactly to change the size on C and this is the error I got:
The specified volume shadow copy storage association was not found.

It is turned on for C and off for D. No difference. When I run vssadmin list shadowstorage in the Elevated CMD it says there is nothing that matches the query.

Back up your hard drive first then
Donwload ccleaner. Then from an administrative account delete all but the last restore point.
Be sure that all registry cleaning is unticked, as well as anything else you are not familiar with.
Piriform - Download CCleaner, Defraggler, Recuva, Speccy - Millions of users worldwide!
Then reboot
And try to make a point
If this does not work we need to reapair
Maybe SFC
maybe repair install we shall see.
