Calibrating Monitor

I am trying to calibrate my SP2009W using Spyder 3 Elite. The software tells me there is provisions for adjusting color temperature(Kelvin) and should be set to 6500 degrees. I don't see any control on the monitor that gives me that option.

Does anyone have one of these monitors and if it has such a setting where is it?Under the Menu all I have is brightness and contrast control.

the problem is even though Spyder 3 tells me "this display has presets for adjusting color temperature(White Point), I don't see where it's at on this monitor, hence the problem.

As I said I dont use the software but the pic seems to indicate to click the dot on the left that says either adjust settings or choose or calibrate.

Clicking won't do anything. It's just a reminder of where you are in the workflow. Maybe the software knows someting I don't. The preset modes I have on the monitor don't give a temperature choice...just Standard, Game, Warm Cool, Custom (RGB). If there were any insturctions for this monitor, I don't recall seeing anyting about this. thnks for jthe help as I know you an't possibly lead me without having some knowledge of this software...I couldn't do it myself.

It's not the manual that's giving me a problem-it's the recommendations. If you look at the drop down menu on the manual you show and click on "Adjust Kelvin Presets", that's what shows up in the software about choosing between those settings with 6500 degrees preferable. I don't see or can find any setting on the monitor to change that. That's the problem or am I missing something?

I'm going to smoke this over a bit. After work today and this, my mind is going into overdrive and I need a break.:) Thanks for the help. All this has been brought jup becdause of having problems getting prints back from several places that have just been too dark. the colors were pretty good...just the density was off so, I figured I needed to recalibrate or find the reason why I'm seeing one thing on the monitor and getting another with a hard copy.

As I said I do not use that software, but some of those articles look like they should solve the problem. The information about the White Point appears to be spelled out in the last document that I sent.
