On January 1st, 2011 my PC clock reset itself to default factory date which is 2009.

Duse to this event most of my software registration and activation has been screwed up.

Every tine I start my PC, I am told that my CMOS setting is wrong. Eventhough I entered Setup to change the CMOS date to 2011, the same thing will happen all over again when I restart my PC!

Below are the details of my problem and PC:

Change the battery in your computer. Reset your bios to clear any errors that may have been caused. Change the data in the Bios to how it is needed. The battery is quite cheap and will save you alot of time.

Help. It is happening again. My PC system date is reverting back to 2009.

I have changed my motherboard battery 5 times and the problem is recurring.

What can I do short of changing my battery?

Thank you.

Go into the BIOS menu and reset to factory defaults and then change what you need. Also I suggest that you scan for malware.

On January 1st, 2011 my PC clock reset itself to default factory date which is 2009
when my PC does that My PC current time settings also changes to the same date in 2009.

This in turn causes a lot of other problems like my Windows auto update, website signature expiry date and validity, my internet security anti virus time stamp is also giving me problem??????????????????????

I reset my Bios every time I start up my computer because the date revert to factory default!

I am using Trend Micro Platinum Internet Security which is a top of the line anti-virus.
