Vista32 D:\ disappears from WE after config for network shar

32-vista D:\ (secondary hdd) was appearing fine in windows explorer ["we"] until i configured it for network sharing to allow sharing 32-vista D:\ with 32-XP Pro (version 2002//SP3), both on lan. to remedy the issue, i uninstalled D:\ from device manager and rebooted; D:\ hdd driver was reinstalled but D:\ still did not appear in we. D:\ appears in storage||disk management: it appears in the lower section ("unallocated") but it does not appear in the upper section.

what is the connection between network share configuration and we, and how can i restore D:\ to we?

What was the purpose of your "D" drive (Solely as a secondary storage drive or a system recovery partion)?

only as a secondary storage. why do you ask this question; what is the relevance of D:\'s use?

Have you taken any other actions other than uninstall the drive in device manager?
NOTHING ELSE

i am reluctant to apply software if i know nothing about it and know nothing about the cause of the problem.

If the drive was a recovery partion, then the recovery options/ actions need to be considered. So this question was asked purely for precautionary measure.

Do you have any information that needs to be recovered from the drive or do you just want the drive back in explorer?

It is easy to get back but as for the reason it has gone, I will do some research into this "sharing & loss" of the drive partion/ format & come back to you. I do not have an answer to hand. OK?
