Folder with colon in name. How to delete?

    Folder with colon in name. How to delete?

    I have a backup utility installed that somehow created a folder with a colon in the name--YES a colon.

    I've tried everything I can think of to delete the folder. But nothing works. Vista keeps telling me that the folder doesn't exist and to verify the path.

    Does ANYONE out there have any ideas as to how I can get rid of this folder?

    If what richc46 don't work then try deleting it whilst in safe mode, then reboot !

    Yeah. I was trying to avoid doing it but I also didn't want to install new software at that time. The drive in question is comprised solely of backups of my personal data. I was in the process of implementing the backup program so I new I wouldn't be losing anything (the data was still on an old external drive in original uncompressed format).

    Once I thought about it, it seemed like the best way as I was wasting too much time trying to avoid the reformat. I had reformatted the drive and re-created a new backup by the next day.
