Printing Tiff files with source data

I would like to print images that are tiff files with the source of the file listed on the sheet. I can do that using my browser with jpeg files. But the browser does not know how to handle tiff files. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Actually, I believe it would. I just downloaded it to test for myself. See below for the Irfanview print screen with options for headers and footers. Then see the help screen to the right with the options for these fields (as well as just inserting text directly). You'll notice that using $D as I did in the print setup page will print the full file path of the file you are printing (which is what I assume is what you mean by source data). If not, then check the other coded options for what you want or, if all else fails, you can always enter the information manually (hopefully using copy/paste, but by typing it if necessary and it should show up).

I'm not certain if $D can be inserted permanently and stay there every time you print - but the existence of the checkbox is a good sign that it will stick once it is set (but will probably apply to all filetypes and not just .tif files). I can't check this as my printer is currently undergoing repairs and the program doesn't seem to have a print preview function that my old eyes can see (and even then, I don't believe it changes based on the addition of headers or footers as I looked at it closely when adding the footer and it didn't change in the slightest).

But it is free and is considered by many to be one of the best viewers available, so I agree it is worth a shot.

I hope this helps.

Good luck!

Thank you for the information. I think that it should be tried, too, that is why I made the suggestion. Lets wait until the poster gets back and see what they think.

You're quite welcome. I always wanted to download this program and now I had an excuse. I did realize you suggested it because you thought it should be tried. I was merely confirming the fact that if "data source" and "file path" mean the same thing in the initial post, then the program can do what was requested and therefore I was supporting your suggestion with verification and evidence. But as you say, it's up to the poster.

Wisjudy,
The bottom line of all these posts is that you should try the software that I suggested and that it seems to work well. I wish you luck.
