Low disk space on RECOVERY (D) file

Hi, I keep gettting this message and when I attempted to clean up files it did not clean up space. If I go to computer > Recovery D the following file folder from 2008-2011 pop up: dell, HOME_BOT, Program Files, sources, Tools, Users, Windows, and MediaID.bin. I don't know what these are and don't want to touch them. I also right clicked the RECOVERY D file and it is full. I am not sure why or how to clean this out.
Thanks!
Patti

Welcome
First do you want to increase recovery space?
http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/76227-system-restore-disk-space.html

Although this says for Windows Seven this his how you delte Restore points.
System Protection Restore Points - Delete - Windows 7 Forums

Try to increase space, if possible. Deleting the points will decrease the protection that system restore offers.

To be sure that you are not having things put on the hard drive that should not be there
Run a full and updated anti virus scan
Download and run a full malwarebytes scan. Update it first.

This article, especially the System Restore Portion, will explain about space being used

You may want to download Ccleaner to clean up files
http://www.piriform.com/
Download it and then ask how to set it, so that you get a full yet safe cleaning. It should be used on a regular basis.

Thank you very much for this information. I will follow your instructions tomorrow. In the meantime I have been reading older posts with the same problem, and it appears that files should not really be storing in the recovery disk D but OS instead. I appreciate your input!:)
Keep you posted as to results soon. Thanks

The reocovery drive should be just for recovery.
