Hi guys, probably been asked before, I have downloaded from my digital video camera to D.V.D on an external recorder but cannot find a way to down load to my computer (I can play it on the computer) Thanks if you can help.

My Computer

I just go back from Europe, we shared a camera and then she sent all the pics to me.
This is how she did it.
Then from her computer she made a CD, which she sent to me. I then put the CD picutres on my hard drive

Dont know how to go from camera to cd to computer.

But I took the cd put it into the cd drive. I looked at the pics frome the CD, that part should be easy. When the CD is viewable, go to the page with your drives, click on the cd drive. You will see a list of all the pics. Hold down shift a mark them off as in copy and paste. Then right click and send to (doucments) or to a zip folder. There you go, all the pics are on the computer. From documents, you can put them all in a folder and drag them to pics or whatever. That will probably work the same way, going from the memory to cd to computer.

Hi escort sasha,

Welcome to Vista Forums!

Here's the procedure to download videos from a digital video camera to a Vista computer: How to connect a video camera and import a movie | Windows Vista, XP and Windows 7 Tutorials.

Here's more information on how to import videos to a Vista computer using either Autoplay or by importing from the appropriate program in Vista: Import video from a videotape.

If you're having troubles with importing from the digital video camera, perhaps the following can help: Troubleshoot importing video problems.

If Autoplay does not bring up the screen or work (or does not open or does not present the correct option), then set autoplay per the following: How to customize AutoPlay | Windows Vista, XP and Windows 7 Tutorials.

If you still have troubles, you may want to consider downloading the free Windows Live Movie Maker 2011 from: Windows Live Movie Maker 2011 (and you can also include other programs from Windows Essentials 2011 at the same time if you wish). In this program, here are the simple instructions on how to import the video from the camera: Movie Maker: Import photos and videos.

I hope this helps.

Good luck!

P.S. If you want to copy from the DVD to Vista (and not from the camera to Vista), try the following article with links to software which will assist you in doing this: How to Copy DVD Movies to a Computer to Play in Media Center | eHow.com.
