ok, im just wondering, which one is preferred to use, Administrator, or create another account. The default configuration is that the hidden Administrator is hidden and another account is created. So the default config doesnt feel suitable, because you have 2 accounts inside Windows, im just wondering which one is the most preferrable:

either using Hidden Administrator permanently.

or

leave the hidden Admin alone and use another account with 2 accounts inside Windows permanently.

im still bugged by this problem since April 2009.

Create new account

The hidden adminstrator is for special problems. It should not be used on a regualar basis. It can cause all kinds of problems, if you are not particularly computer knowledgable.
It has no limitation, based upon permissions, etc.
Set up two adminsitrator accounts, just in case of problems and use only one a regular basis
I have seen many problems where the adminstrator account became corrupt and a second, administrator would have saved the day.

Hi muz1234,

It's best to diable the hidden Administrator and only use it in emergencies if necessary.

You should create two regular Administrator accounts (one for use when needed and one for emergencies in case the other one gets corrupted or you forget the password or whatever).

Daily and normal use should be a Standard User account.

That's the safest way to operate. Others will probably suggest other ideas, but this is the one I recommend when asked.

I hope this helps.

Good luck!

BTW, there's no reason to be concerned about having multiple user accounts. To the contrary, Vista prefers to have multiple accounts (and that's just for one real user - I'm not even counting if there actually are multiple users who each need accounts). They too should use Standard User Accounts on a day-to-day basis, an Administrator account when needed (or prevented from Admistrative access unless through you or people who are trustworthy), and the built-in hidden Administrator account only in an emergency (and kept disabled in the meantime - not even enabled) when nothing else seems to be working (think of it as a last resort for user accounts).

If you use the Hidden Administrator Constantly than your Computer is open to a Whole World full of Viruses

If you have UAC Enabled a Virus can only Access what a Standard user could Rendering it useless but when there is No UAC a Virus will have total Control over your Computer so please be very careful when Using the Hidden Administrator

Hope This Helps,
Josh

Hello!

I agree with everything said already. We have all seen far too many issues with the Hidden Admin account. There have been scores of posts on this forum where people have either enabled or disabled it, and had problems with UAC, such as "Allow" or "Continue" being greyed out, and many similar. None have been satisfactorally resolved. All ended in a re-install, I think. I am glad you are not going down that path! We have seen too many issues with it, and although some do benefit from using it in certain emergency situations, I don't think it is worth risking it now :)

Just my two cents!

Richard
