Prefetch...to delete or not

typo

Banned
All of a sudden, I am noticeably slow.

I have run SFC /scannow x 3, ABAM x 2, MSE, once and dskchk x 2, Disk clean-up, once and defrag once...all to no avail.

My prefetch file is 85 MB. Should I delete?

I've tried clean boot (took me more than an hour)and Reg defragX2...no diff.

I'm almost certain I have a malware...but MBAM and MSE are not picking up any. Either that or the public network I'm using has changed to a slower speed.

you could go to Trend Micro65 housecall and do an on line scan.
Also if you have cleared your old prefetch data it will be slow until it loads again after you open some programs.

Just a slight variation of the above. I and Brink recommend eset. It is download to your browser and it is a great. It can be used as an online scanner or information can be stored in your browser to save a few minutes the next time you scan
