That's the whole point Richard. I have just reinstalled my O/S and I want a listing of what is presently in my registry so I can check to see what has changed. I had to reinstall the O/S because I inadvertently downloaded a Yahoo app. My uninstaller program wiped most of it out but when I checked the registry I found some traces left over which I removed. I also found a number of entries I suspect have been installed by Yahoo but under a code identifier, not a name. Since I won't delete anything from the registry that I can't identify, I would like to print out a listing of all items in the registry prior to installing any new apps, after installing new apps, and following the uninstallation of any apps. These unscrupulous entities such as Yahoo, Apple, and Nero like to hide these things so they show up in various UAC windows and other places and, when you have enough of these leftovers in your registry, it tends to slow down your computer. As the Beatles said in Penny Lane: "He likes to keep a clean machine."

Hello Powell,

You can select Computer at the top in Registery Editor, then click on File (Menu bar) and Print to print "all Pages" for a complete copy of your registry. It will be a lot of pages though.

You could also just right click on Computer in regedit and click on Export as well to have a list of your registry in a REG file to right click on and Edit to view instead. This will save you a ton of paper.

Hope this helps,

Hello Brink:

Thank you for your reply and let me apologize for the necessity of you even having to reply. Sometimes I wonder if all the wacky tabacky of my younger days has caused all my brains to leak out or if it's just old age making me naturally stupid.

I did as you suggested but after 6,000+ plus pages of exported material I decided that was really more information than I needed. It then dawned on me that I all I had to do was snip the portions of the listings in the registry that I required. I then just convert them to Adobe PDF and I've got the list. Since I do a lot of historical research, I do this all the time with e-books which, although you purchase them you cannot copy them, and with a lot of primary documents that are available in HTML format only, so I can only credit it to stupidity that I didn't think of it before.

Once again, thank you for your help. It is always appreciated.

Best Regards
Powell Lucas

Many thanks to the folks who replied to my original post re the referenced title. The solution is so simple that only an idiot would take so long to come up with it. It's a simple snip and convert process.
