Computer cannot go to sleep at all

Ok, first of all, I am having problems with sleep, NOT WITH HIBERNATE. So please don't link me to/give me solutions for problems with hibernate.
Also, I have tried searching google but I can't find a solution for my problem so don't tell me to do that either.

Now that that's done...

I am running vista home basic on a macbook pro in bootcamp. Recently, (possibly after disc cleanup) my sleep stopped working (again NOT HIBERNATE).

So this is what is missing/going wrong:
-when I go to the start button and the arrow, sleep is greyed out
-In control panel -> Power options -> Edit Plan Settings -> Advanced Settings -> Sleep, the only option is hibernate after. I am missing the sleep after option.
It is not my multimedia settings, those are on allow computer to sleep. Under power buttons and lid, everything is set to sleep.
-When I close the lid, the computer doesn't go to sleep. It will instead go to the black screen with the blinking underscore in the top left like when booting up. Also, when I try to wake it up, I have to press the power button and it'll go the "Resuming Windows" screen.

That is all. If you have any questions related to this, or any solutions, please post them here. Thank you.

Thanks for the effort, but whenever I tried clicking on the shortcut my computer shut down. The problem with the second link was that I am missing the options other than hibernate after in the "power options -> advanced settings -> sleep" area.

I think the problem is that I somehow deleted the files that allow my computer to sleep, as the options will not show up. Also, I have all the settings under "power options -> advanced settings -> power buttons and lid" set to sleep, but if I try to edit them, sleep doesn't show up on the drop-down list.
