Uninstall Ubuntu on its own partition

Vista Home Premium 320G HD, 4G RAM.

I had to try Ubuntu for a couple of months and will say there are some features in a Linux system that are highly desirable. However, I've played with it enough and found that the advances in Windows OS's makes it a far better choice for me. That said, I want to uninstall Ubuntu and the Partition on which it resides. Ideally, I'd like to regain that space where Vista is installed. (Screenshot of disk)

I used the GRUB installer (a nice installer) to install Ubuntu and it manages computer startups.
What the method of choice to delete a partition and regain the space on the drive where Vista is installed.

Thanks ahead of time.

Thanks Rich and Shadow. Stinking company just arrived and I'll follow your advices later. Only thing I'm really paranoid about is my system is an OEM and I had to make disks [DVD] when I set up Vista. Are these disks suitable for this operation?

Heres the problem
I am assuming that the DVD that you mention is a restoration DVD, and cannot be used in the method that you desire. It is just an image and not a real install DVD.
May I suggest that you partition, using computer managment and format. Then your remaining OS should be intact .If not use the DVD to reinstall. If you use the DVD to reinstall you lose all your stuff; I suggest that you back up first.
I am also assuming that you have a restoration DVD, be sure before you try

From windows Help and Support

  • Formatting a volume will destroy any data on the partition. Be sure to back up any data you want to save before you begin.
  • In computer managment
  1. If you're prompted for an administrator
  2. password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation. in the left pane, under Storage, click Disk Management.
Right-click the volume that you want to format, and then click Format.
  3. To format the volume with the default settings, in the Format dialog box, click OK, and then click OK again.
You cannot format the active Partition, this must be done from windows.

The Points that Rich have given are in case if you Mess up your Partition Table

They Video shows how to Edit your Partition to be able to have it fully as windows

Note   Note
You will need to backup any Data from Ubuntu using an External HDD

Hope This Helps,
Josh

As you can see from this capture I got rid of Ubuntu via the method outlined (downloaded and burned the ISO), deleted partitions and repaired Boot/MBR.

Rich and Shadow, I can't thank you enough for your advice. So simple and straightforward.....just the way I hoped it would be. Great job!!
