Cannot install Vista

After my hard drive kept giving me the error bootmgr is missing, I decided to buy a new drive but I am unable to install vista on to it. It is the 2TB WD caviar black and whenever I try to install vista it tells me that windows setup could not reinitialize the deployment engine. To install windows, restart the installation.
I was wondering if this is because I am using the anytime upgrade cd that came with my desktop or if it is a problem with the hard drive.

Yes I did both and neither did anything. When I tried to use the solution given to fix my old hard drive it keeps on giving me errors of files not found no matter which step I used. I also did change the boot priority before but this did not help either. Is it just not possible to use the Vista anytime upgrade cd on a new hard drive and will I have to buy a new Vista cd to install the os on the new drive?

I be honest up front, I am not sure of the limitations imposed by your DVD, but if it can be installed this is the way it should be done. If it still does not work post, again.

I feel that Ilike is correct, but will not hurt to try this.
