Administrator Priveledges

Good day,

I am running Windows Vista Home Premium Edition-X64 bit-SP2. I recently lost my hard drive and had to restore my OS back to factory settings. Upon installing some programs I find that the program icons have a little multi colored shield on them where other program icons have none.

When I tried to uninstall the program I was denied stating "You do not have administrator's priveledges". I am sole operator of my computer. What do I need to do to get Administrator's priveledge?

Also when I go to install a new program the desktop screeen greys out and I am asiked to approve the installation. I did not have this feature before my hard drive "crashed". Is there a setting I need to reset? Sorry for all the questions, but these need to be addressed by a far more experienced person than I am. Thank you. :o

When you want to uninstall, the easy way is to use the hidden administrator. It is the best way, since after the uninstall the program is history. I see no need to get permissions etc
Built-in Administrator Account - Enable or Disable - Windows 7 Forums[2]=User Accounts

Set up a new adminsitrator account for other functions and see how that goes. Regular administrator account not the one I showed you above.
