Solved Trackpad won't work after replacement!!!

Hi

I am working on an Acer Aspire 5732z. The track pad and buttons stopped working, so I uninstalled it and re-installed it again, same fault. I then replaced the cable, still the same, and then finally change the palmrest, but it still won't work!!! I am able to use usb mouse (of course), does this mean it's the board???

Hi,

Please do this and let me know.

1. Press the Fn key and keep it pressed.
2. Then press F7 key once and see if trackpad starts or not.

Fn + F7 is used to toggle to turn on/off the trackpad

Then update your driver first.

Go to the Acer web site and the click on the Support link. From there you are looking for a link to Downloads.

You will have to choose your make/model information and then you should find a link to download the driver for the mousepad.

It will be called Mousepad, Touchpad or something similar.

Download the file and then install it, following any instructions provided with the file or on the screen.

Share your result.
