    Vista Product Lifecycle

I've just been reading up on M/S's lifecycle database. Support (Updates etc) is scheduled to cease on 15/04/2012.

    Microsoft Product Lifecycle Search

Business and enterprise editions will continue to recieve updates until 2017, however users of the ultimate edition seem to have to suffer the same fate as home edition users.

This is really in poor taste since vista and 7 are very similar products.

I am unsure about the cost cutting.
I think more on the lines of 'channel the minions onto Win7/8, and let's make some more money"?

This would be my guess. It's not like they seem to want to support Vista any longer than they feel they must.

Well, in response to this bad news, i'm looking into upgrading my 2nd machine to win7 - then waiting for Win8 for my main PC.

Still, the news sucks esp for those (me) who paid more for ultimate

Computers are pretty much upgraded at this same interval, so its not surprising.

But they said the same thing with xp and then extended it... But also remember.. They extend xp for those to skip Vista in buisnesses.... and losst lots of money.
