First of all, I am new to Backups and Reformatting. I am looking to erase my Hard Drive clean, but I heard I must do a backup of data first. To be honest, I have no idea how to do either, but,I WANT to learn, and do this myself. Also, I want to mention I am petrified of doing this daunting task. What I am looking for is a simple, easy way of doing this. This coud be simple step by step,or video, so I can follow the steps. Any help, suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

Firstly What is the Model of your Computer and Did you buy it in a Shop or Built it your own?

Secondly as for a Backup I would Just get a Blank Harddrive and then Copy all your Data Manually as Windows Backup in Vista is Tempermental

Many Thanks,
Josh

My machine is an Acer Laptop 2480-2196 purchased 3 years ago. I don't have another Hard Drive, so couldn't I back it up on a CD, DVD, or Flash Drive? The simplest way is the best, for me. Thanks again!

Yes you can Do that - Depending on the Amount of Data you have you may need to use Multiple CD/DVDs amd Flash Drives That is why I mentioned a Harddrive ;)
