How to Move Docs from C to D drive

This fourm was very helpful this past week with my hard drive crash on my desktop computer. I now have a question about the drives on my laptop.
My laptop has a C drive and a D drive. The C drive has the operating system and all of my data. However it is only 100GB. My D drive is empty but it is 350GB. The C drive is now almost full. I want to move my data, docs, pictures, and videos to the D drive because it has more room. I want to know how to move those files and make the D drive the default for them.
Thanks.

Not sure of how to make them default but I have a similar laptop ....250GB on C and 250GB on D
You can either drag pics and docs to D an drop them there or copy and paste them as I tried both methods and the docs and pics opened up when I clicked on them in "D" drive.

To default them there is something I haven't tried yet. Sorry!

I knew that I could copy them to D. What I would like to do is when I click on pictures, video, etc on my desk top I want it to go to the D drive because there is so much space there.
