fan doesn't go off in sleep mode

Hi, Sorry for yet another post....
When I put my laptop into sleep mode, the screen goes off but the fans stay on? It's been like this for a while now so I've just been putting it to Hibernate instead, but I'm sure the fans used to go off when it was in sleep mode??

the processsor is overheating so it needs to keep running to cool it down to normal temperature, afterall, it is still running in sleep mode, you can fix this with a can of pressurised air and giving it a good blow out from the dust.

Yup, give it a good clean out.

I like to blow into the exhaust as i use a vaccumm to suck out the intakes.
