Need to reboot my computer

Hello,

I want to wipe everything I've downloaded and return to factory settings on my windows vista computer. I have searched for many hours on how to do this, I've done it before and it was very simple, all I did was hit f11 during the boot screen and got into system recovery and I returned my computer to factory settings without any cds or anything. Now when I try to do it f11 doesn't do anything for me and I've tried the recovery manager to do it but the recovery manager is asking me to insert a disc (which I don't have). I don't think I need the disc because I've done it before without a disc.

Please help.

Thanks

The restore partition is probably corrupted.

Did you ever
Partition
Add an operating system
Remove an operating system
Defrag that drive with the factory image?

Computer make and model please? Ill research the method.
And help you do it.

If you are unable to resolve this problem, call your computer manufacturer, ask for a set of Recovery discs. The cost is minimal.
At the same time, ask them if they can teach you how to access your Recovery Partition, if your computer has one, as well as how to use it.

I have tried all of them, the system recovery option isn't working for me when I try to boot into the advanced boot options. Also I want to restore it to factory settings so system restore wouldn't work for me and I can't create recovery discs because I dont have any discs at all.

Ok so F10 doesn't work it boots into something else.

F10 is Setup
Esc is Boot Menu
F11 is System Restore (doesn't work)
F9 is diagnostics ( have already done this and everything was fine)

I have also tried Alt+F10 and Alt+F11, I read it somewhere to try it but it doesnt work for me.

Read the article that I gave you it explains what to do.

The easiest will be to tap the F10 key repeatedly when booting the PC. This will take you to a screen to begin the process. Or, once in Windows, you can go to Start>All Programs>HP Tools>HP PC System Recovery.

I have tried this.. It goes to the recovery manager, I got to advanced options > recover your computer to its original factory condition .. then it says your system does not have a recovery partition, the recovery process requires a disc set, please insert disc #1.

The problem is.. is that I have no discs but I have recovered it to the original factory condition before without any discs by going through the F11 system recovery. This is what confuses me, I think it has something to do with F11 not working.

Means that somehow the partition is gone or corrupted. Method 2
You can follow the suggestions to get installation DVDs for cost or for about 135 get an seven upgrade DVD. Test your computer to make sure that it is capable of Seven.
Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor - Download - Microsoft Windows
No right way or wrong way. I had Vista and now use Seven. In your situation, for a bit more, Id go with Seven. If you do, make sure its SP1
Luck
