can't get some applications to run

Hi, I'm using Vista x86 Home Premium and I'm having some trouble getting some apps running. For example; when i try to play windows games or try to run visual studio 2010, the apps run but the workspace/body doesn't load, just the window frame with the minimize, maximize and close buttons.

Hi,

Thanks once again for the help. I had a ransomware attack recently and in the process of removing it some registry entries may have changed but i cannot pinpoint where the changes were made and i cannot create a restore point or go to previous restore points

Hi, thanks for the advice. Managed to clean my system but still have the same problem. Is there a way i can get the default registry values so that i can reset which one in particular is causing it?

Hello lets try and fix it by doing a sfc /scannow I am giving you a tutorial to make sure you do it right and it's very easy to do.

After running the first sfc if there are any errors then run it 3 more times as it fix's more each time it's run, along with the tutorial this is how to do it.

1. Click start...
2. In the search box type: cmd...
3. At the top of the popup Right click the cmd.exe and click run as administrator...
4. When the command box appears then type: sfc /scannow notice there is a space between the sfc and the forward slash.

Leave the computer alone and don't click the mouse or computer it runs better when it's left alone it should take about 35 to 40 minutes to finish.

Please up date us with the results...
