Vista Startup

Hi guys, A family member has a Dell Inspiron 6400 with Vista Home Premium installed. She has had problems with start up. When I power up I get to the password screen then after entering password the windows loading screen appears and stays there until I Ctrl Alt Del, it then boots straight away. I have run Uniblue Registry Booster, CCCleaner, defragger and reduced the start up programs to just the Anti Virus program. On rare occasions it will boot in under 90 seconds no problems. Can anyone suggest anything or would I be better off upgrading to Windows 7, I run it on my laptop no problems.

Welcome
Ever since the installation of IE9 many have been having problems. May I suggest that you try with another Broswer, if you now have IE9 or roll back to 8
