Hi,
If I right click the Recycle bin icon on the desktop, properties says that the target is the desktop.
If I use Windows Explorer and right click the recycle bin entry under desktop, properties says that the target is
Local Maxtor (N 189 GB
OS(C 455 GB and
Recovery (D 9.76 GB
If I look at the above three locations I do see $Recycle.Bin at each location.
N has four subordinates, C has two subordinates and D has four subordinates all named Recycle Bin
Why are there three and if I empty the recycle bin do all of them get emptied?
I would rather not have recycle bin on N:. I use this for OS backup of a desktop and a laptop and I need all the space that I can get!
Each internal HDD will have a hidden protected OS file named $Recycle.Bin that are all linked to and referenced by the Recycle Bin on your desktop.
You would only want to use the Recycle Bin on your desktop, and not manually delete anything from the $Recycle.Bin files. Doing so could cause your Recycle Bin to become corrupted.
The link below can give you some more details about the Recycle Bin though. Please let me know if you have any further questions on this.
1.Right click on your desktop
2.Click on the "personalize" option
3.on the left hand side it should say under "tasks" "Change Desktop Icons"
4.Tick the boxes next to the name of the icon you want on your desktop
