Hey I have a Windows Vista Home Premium HP Pavilion dv6700 Notebook PC (32-bit operating system) and whenever I try to download something the program doesn't respond.

example : I want to download something so I click on it, then it says if I want to run/save/ cancel it.
If I press cancel nothing happens but if I press run or save the download window doesn't respond.
After spam clicking on it, the window becomes white and asks if I want to close the program or w8 till the program responds.
If I close it and I look in task manager it shows me that ieuser.exe is running (which I think is normal) and it's memory keeps increasing and increasing (which I think is not normal).
Then if I log of/shut down/restart the laptop (and ieuser.exe is still running) then it asks me the place where I want to save the file but then it's too late cuz my laptop is logging of so I can't download it.

Does anyone know what to do??? =(
please keep in MIND that I CAN'T download anything on this laptop but I can on the pc of my family but I'd love a solution whitout downloading anything so if anyone knows a solution pls tell me, that would really help me :(:(:(

THX in advance

Can be many reasons, but most often due to malware
Run a complete and updated anti virus
If you can download malwarebyrtes to a usb drive, try to install and run a full scan.

Download Microsoft Security Essentials for real time protection and Malwarebytes for a once a week scan. You need the Anti Virus, too.
Malwarebytes is not technically an anti virus. It looks for something a bit different.

Oh ok XD btw my old antivirus was microsoft security essentials lol
is it ok if I have them both at the same time or will that cause some kind of problems??

thx for answering

The free Malwarebytes only runs when you scan once a week. You can use it and MSE at the same time.
