Two problems

Hi,

I have a Windows Vista Home premium OMEAct laptop and recently, I've been having two problems around the time scanquery somehow found a way into my computer. The first problem is that whenever I try to open something, there is a black box that shows up for half a second and then disappears. The title of the window is where the app is (eg. C:/Users/Public/Desktop/Google Chrome.lnk), and inside it, it says "Program too big to fit in memory" and yet, when I right click and select "start", the program works. This is annoying because when I try to install some thing, the setup wizard doesn't open. Also, when I turn on my computer, 20 or so of these appear.

The second problem is that for whatever reason, my laptop wont identify the battery, thus the only way of powering my laptop is to plug it in or else it just shuts down.

Any help with these problems is deeply appreciated.

Go to search by the start button. Then type device manager. In device manager look for the battery desgianation. Make sure that the battery drivers have no yellow makrers and are up to date.
Make sure that the battery is charged and working properly.
For the black box problem, try in safe mode.If it is ok, test and solve with a clean boot.
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

If the clean boot does not work make a memory test.

I have posted the method to get into safe mode.
If there are no yellow markers, update the drivers.
