Vista Home Premium installation failure

Hey all.. I have a large problem concerning a clean install of Vista Home Premium. Let me start off with this:

I was running Vista Home Premium a couple of days ago when, out of anger, I bashed my laptop with my fist repeatedly for unexpectedly going into this hibernation-like state while I was playing a game(it did this a couple of times before but I had had enough of it at that point). I ended up creating a couple of bad sectors on my hard drive and Vista had corrupt system drivers that couldn't be repaired through the installation DVD. Yes, installation DVD, I don't know where the recovery disk is. After a day of nearly smashing the laptop in with a hammer, I managed to wipe the whole hard disk.

Now here's my problem. When I go to install Vista Home Premium on a clean 250GB hard drive, the installation gives an error that says "Windows could not prepare the computer to boot into the next phase of the installation. To install Windows, please restart the installation." Could someone help?

EDIT: The system specs in my profile are of my desktop. My laptop is the main issue. The basic specs of my laptop are Core 2 Duo @ 1.8GHz, 3GB RAM, 250GB HDD, Intel GMA X3100 integrated graphics.

Hi anonyman, I got some pretty bad news for you, firstly, anger and PC's don't mix and you've inadvertently destroyed your own hard drive because of it, secondly, the original problem could have been fixed if you changed the power save options to high performance. The only way to fix your current issue is to replace the hard drive and take anger management classes

(the last bit was sarcasm) :D

Oh, it was running on High Performance. Full battery too. I remember looking at my battery about a minute and a half before I killed it.. Anyways, thanks for confirming that, I was afraid I'd killed the drive. (I take sarcasm very well, I just think that things are.. mocking me. It's hard to explain.) Again, thanks.
