Search Function History Removal

I use FireFox and when I type in the Start Button Search Function", I get all sorts of history popping up. There are numerous Temp files that are not on the system, but ther are refernces to the files in the Search Listing. How do I clear the Listing?

Tom, I really appreciate your help. Attached is the screenshot. If you look the bottom left hand corner you can see the start search. In the middle it shows some files that have popped up. Want to clean these. CC Clnr does not do. Thanks again!

It's no problem at all :) Thank you for the screenshot, yes I see what you mean now. Right click on one of these files and select properties. Then tell me what it says next to Location:

Tom, here is an example....

/c:/Users/Jeff/AppData/Local/Microsoft/Windows/Temporary Internet Files/Low/Content

It does not connect to a file...CC Clnr would have cleaned it before.

So it points to a folder? Not a file? Let's use some more powerful software:

3. Clear Temp Files

  • Download TFC (By OldTimer), to your desktop.
  • Save any open documents, then close any active programs/windows
  • Right click on the file, and select Run As Administrator
  • When it opens, click Start to being the process
  • A reboot is required upon completion of this, if this is not done by TFC then do so manually
