I restarted my computer and now the screen is stuck saying "logging off". Even if I turn the power on/off it's still stuck. After reading some of the discussions here, I was planning on using F8 and starting the computer at the last known good configuration. What I wanted to know, is this the best way or does someone have a better idea? I am worried that I could lose a lot of information since I don't know what date was the last good configuration. Thanks.

This problem shouldn't have happened in the first place, so let's just check everything is alright on your system
SFC Scan
1. Open the start menu
2. In the search box, type cmd
3. Right click on cmd and select Run as administrator
4. In command prompt, type:
sfc /scannow
5. Let it run and let me know if it finds any Integrity Violations
