Hi, i've just deleted this file with a free download software called 'unlocker'.
The file is still there but now has 0 bytes when before i think it had something like 28..
I've heard that these are really important files, the LOG1 is ok, i didnt delete it..and it looks alot bigger than the other one..
These are registry files right?
How important are they?
What have i done...
Is my computer gonna crash?
I had to restart the computer to delete the LOG2 file and my computer is working ok thus far..
But, what might come of it?
How can i get that file back?
As i said, its still there but with no bytes..
Thanks, and any help will be greatly received.
Bye

Welcome
If you have maintained your computer properly, you can restore the file with a system restore
http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/76905-system-restore-how.html

They may not be registry, however, but rather a log of the activity.
Whatever they are, since we are not sure, try to restore.
In the future stay away from hidden files. They are hidden so computer owners cannot tamper with these important files.

Thanks for the reply, i appreciate it.
However i have no restore points on Windows Restore, i do have one with my Lenovo Care application but for some reason the screen says it's restoring but i left it for about 6 hours and it didnt even progress 1%.
I've tried to restore the file through free downloadable software but to no avail.
The computer works fine, ive checked many things, it logs on and off fine..
What should i assume..?
Oh, plus i've run some reg scans and virus scans...everything seems ok..
The LOG1 file in my username folder has 256kb, as i said, the LOG2 was alot smaller..
Just looking for an alternative piece of advice, if their is one.
Thanks again.

Hello!

Well, the registry hive .log, .log1 and .log2 files track changes to the registry hives. It is not advisable to delete them! Please don't delete them in the future, because it does tend to mess things up, sometimes really badly (for example System Restore may now restore most things correctly, but not your user hive, leaving it out of sync with the rest of your computer, and causing big problems)

In the future, please don't delete any hidden/system files you don't understand! It sometimes leads to bad things happening!

Please install Shadow Explorer: ShadowExplorer.com - About and attempt to recover the file, and store it somewhere safe, and if successful, I may consider a merge of the log files.

Richard
