    Boot Log-How to disable?

Hi some time ago I needed to enable the boot log. But how can I disable it. It always writes a log when I boot the system and it slows down the boot process. Please help it is really frustrating I can not find anything on google even here on jow to disable the boot log. During the startup process I hit the F8 key and there is only feature to enable the boot log but not to turn it off or disable it. Also I looked through out the control panel and windows folder and can not find anything. Please help.

I dont think the log is still running, I think that it is the old log that keeps loading.Try with ccleaner. Download the free ccleaner. See it that clears the log
Be sure to check all error reporting, temporary files, log files.

Thanks I will do that. But also several times I removed the ntbtlog.txt document from the windows folder and the next time I reboted the boot log run in the startup and the text ntbtlog document was recreated. But I will try the ccleaner and see if that will help.

OK, i run the ccleaner and it looks like it fixed the problem the ntbtlog.txt is not being created which means the bootlog should not work. but whe the pc is being reboted it looks that the boot log is enabled. When the pc restarts it goes through windows is loading files then loads all the drivers and displays drives info then it boots to windows. This is a boot logging right?

To be honest, until your question, I thought that bootlogging worked for only that one boot. Now, I will return to that position. I must believe that there is a malfunction with your OS, Vista.
Lets see what we can do to correct that
Lets start with and SFC command. Run several times if errors are found but not fixed.
    System Files - SFC Command

    Re: Boot Log-How to disable?

OK I opened command prompt as admin, then I run sfc /scannow it wen through the scan and found 1 file corrupted and fixed it. Then I went to check the cbs log file in the windows/logs directory. Every time i tried to open the log file which is a text document i got access is denied.
Then I tought Vista permissions might be wrong so I run the "secedit /configure /cfg %windir%\inf\defltbase.inf /db defltbase.sdb /verbose" command to reset the vista permissions, after the scan I got the message "
The task has completed. Warnings occurred for some attributes during this operat
ion. It's okay to ignore the warning" Then I closed all opened windows and reboted again. Botlog was running again. When vista loaded I try again to open cbs log file and got access is denied message. The ntbtlog.txt was not created.
All this was done from administrator account
    thanks.
