Solved Help can't boot vista

Hi all,
I hope someone can help me, I have a HP Pavillion DV9500 which died a death I diagnosed it as motherboard and replaced it, it then worked for a day then the only way I could get it to boot would be to boot with the recovery disc in, then that failed to work, then I joined this forum and with the help of members soon realised that the problem could be the hard drive. So I replaced the hard drive put in the HP recovery disks which proceeded to format the hard drive and install drivers and vista. When I rebooted the only screen that appears now is as follows

Intel UNDI, PXE-2.1 (build 082)
Copyright (C) 1997 - 2000 Intel corporation

For Realtek RTL8111B/8168B Gigabit Ethernet Controler v2.03 (060516)
PXE-E61 : Media test failure, check cable
PXE-M0F : Exiting PXE ROM.
Operating system not found

I have done a secondary hard drive test which came up with no problems. Tried to do a primary hard drive test which said diagnostics not supported. (I only have one hard drive fitted to this laptop). I then did a memory test which again passed. These were done through the Phoenix bios setup utility.
When I try to reinstall using the recovery disks, it goes through the whole process but still says no operating system found. It does more than it used to do but still not working. If someone can give me any ideas of how to get this working properly I would be extremely grateful.

Kind regards
A very frustrated Neil.

Hi all
Thanks for the imfo I have tried restoring a couple of times now but no joy
I have downloaded ubuntu and installed it, I get to a screen which asks me to select a file, click on the icon next to “Source”, pick the downloaded ISO file, stick a recordable CD into the drive, and click burn. when I select this option It opens up a search file with options of desktop, computer, pictures etc, on the left side,
on the right bottom corner I can select ISO files but dont know what to do next
also in the Image burn log that appears bellow is a yellow triangle with the writing
11.10.46 any dvd can interfere with imageburns ability to verify it accuratley please ensure it is disabled, do I disable it and if so how

Thanks Neil

Hi all,
I have sorted it, in the bios the hard drive was being recognised as a secondary drive but it wouldn't work, kept saying operating system not found,
there is another place in the laptop for a hard drive (a primary drive) so I moved the hard drive to this place, checked the bios and it recognised it as primary, I loaded the installation discs and loaded vista
How bad do I feel
I will put this down as a learning curve
Sorry for wasting your time on this problem and thanks for all of your help

Neil
