Hi all
Me again, hope some one can help me out again
I replaced my notebook motherboard and hard drive and all has been working fine
My problem is I turned off the notebook from the start menue and when I turned it back on the hard drive light flashes and does its usual stuff but I have a completly blank screen, even when I boot from the instalation disc it doesnt seem to matter how I start, there is nothing on the screen, the only thing that seems to work is the lights around the keyboard, I am thinking it is poss time to give up and buy a new laptop
please help any info would be greatly appreciated

Thanks all Neil

You could try an external screen
Turn on speakers. Now boot. If you do not hear the Vista boot sounds, its not the monitor, but another hardware problem on the computer.

Hi Rich

Have just pluged in external monitor and it works fine is there any way of checking the screen for faults ? also could this be a chain reaction from something like a power surge ?
I wonder what will be next to give up ?

Thanks Neil

Rich
It isn't fixed, the only way I can use the laptop is to use an external monitor

I misunderstood, Im sorry. In any event, I think that you have to replace the monitor.
You may have to bring it into the shop.
