Solved Dark Green Planets

HI,
I hope someone can help?. My problem is that my desktop short cut icons set up through Chrome Tools>Create application short-cuts >to desktop.

These icons seem to have a mind of their own,they change shape, colour and size whenever they feel like it .At present i have three icons that look like three dark green planets.

It is never more than three or four icons that change at one time,it is not necessarily the same icons it could be any of them.

I'm running vista 32bit home basic,

All comments, ideas and of course solutions will be gratefully received.

It looks like you will be my saviour again.

I'm just off to work now,I've just started a McAfee full scan, and will will run Malwarebytes this evening and let you know the out come.

You are weldome, but a virus is the most likely cause, but may not be this time.

Hi Rich
I started the McAfee scan this morning before i went to work, before i left home i had a quick look,the scan was saying one virus detected.The scan was still running when i left for work.

When i checked the scan results tonight it showed no virus detected in last scan and everything is OK. How can this be?, when this morning during the scan it showed one virus detected.

Ran Malwarebytes tonight all was clear. Any thoughts.

p.s How many hours am i in front / behind you?, it is 20.40 in the UK.

First my apologises for not getting back to you sooner. The dark green planets have gone and yes it was some sort of virus . I ran malwaryebytes and spybot this seemed to cure the problem.

Once again i apologise for my bad manners re; my late response.
