USB printing to Boca FGL 26/46

Can anyone explain why I cannot print to this printer using Vista.
I use it successfully on my desktop pc using Windows XP home addition. I have installed the identical drivers on my Dell Latitude D530 running Vista home basic 32 bit and I cannot even print a test page. Printer status shows error although the print job is in the print queue.

Hi Lottie,
Thanks for the suggestion - I have tried the routine on the Boca site with the same result. There seems to be no connection between the laptop and the printer. I have tried any number of different drivers. In all cases the printer is shown as 'ready' but as soon as I try to print it acknowledges that the print job has been sent to the printer but immediately records 'error'.
As I said I have no problem with the printer and the USB cables when used with WindowsXP on my desktop.

Hi,

Have a look in device manager & check for items (Printers, USB devices etc.) with Red or yellow markers. Pos a picture if you would too please.

Hi Paul,
The Boca drivers used on my desktop with XP were downloaded from the Boca website. When I use these and print through USB printing Support - driver C:\Windows\System32\drivers\usbprint.sys - I get a yellow triangle on USB printing support when I try to print and error message This device cannot start (Code 10).
When I try to use the www.bocasystems.com/discontinued .html download it moves the printer to Human Interface Device but just will not print - no red or yellow sign. Suspect that the discontinued drivers are too old for my printer. When installing it describes the printer as 'Boca Thermal Ticket Printer 46 FGL' whereas the one I use on the desktop correctly describes it as 'Boca FGL 26/46 200 DPI'.
I have tried to install this driver using the procedure outlined in www.bocasystems.com/discontinued .html it tells me the folder cannot recognise compatible software.
Thanks very much for your suggestions so far.
Tim S
