Cant log on to vista

hi can anyone help me!!!

I have Vista Home Premium, been using it successfully since 2008 (old I know!!)

anyways I tried to log on last night and it told me i had the incorrect password, my reminder came up i put in the password again anad nothing it is now saying that i have an unauthosrised version of vista however it is the programme i got wiht my computer and i still have the activation code stuck to the bottom on the laptop

Please help i am a teacher in need of the work on my laptop!!!

Sorry that you are having problmes.
Lets make sure that you are actually still activated
Go to the desktop
Go to the computer icon
Right click
Go to properties
Lower right, is there a Microsoft Emblem?

If you do see the Microsoft validation emblem, see if you can reset the password.

Hi, thanks for getting back to me.

I literally cannot get past the start up screen where I am asked to put my password in, I get 3 options of log in with limited access, contact vista or buy new.

Limited access simply takes me back to the same point and then a black screen saying that my vista is not legitimate, the other 2 options say i need internet access however as i use a wireless dongle I am totally stuck to go any further.

OK, what you must do, then, is call Microsoft. Tell them that you have been activated for years and now you have a non activation problem. They will set you up.
The problem, MAY, have been due to the new technology being used by Microsoft the make sure that all copies are legal; there have been bugs.

As a heads up, they may advise you to call the manufacturer of your computer, since the OS copy came with the computer. This will get settled quickly, however.
