Hoping somebody might be able to help me.
I ran combofix to get rid of the google redirect virus and it worked great for that. However, I'm having issues displaying graphics in multiple programs. For example, when I try to open a photo in windows photo gallery, I see the outline of the window and can click on all the buttons. I also see the thumbnail of the image off in the margin. However, where the large version of the photo would pop up, I just see the desktop behind the window. The desktop "freezes" into the view window and will move as you move the windows gallery window around with the mouse.
The same thing happens with google earth, I can see and interact with the entire interface (file menu, etc) but I just see the desktop where I'd normally see the map.
This is the case for many other programs too. FLV player will play audio but you don't see the video. A program I have for radar analysis will work but not display the radar imagery.
In every case, you just see whatever is behind the active window where you should be seeing some type of graphics.
I've tried reinstalling some of these programs with no luck. This leads me to believe the ComboFix deleted something important (registry entry(s) drivers, etc).
Can anybody think of anything obvious that would cause this behavior? I can post the ComboFix log if it would help anybody.
