hibernation problem

I've googled this problem and got nothing. only "sleep mode turns computer back on after 2 minutes" etc.

my problem is, almost whenever I set my computer to sleep mode, it'll turn my monitor off, but my computer won't go to sleep. it'll remain on, and I end up having to shut my computer down altogether and restarting it.

in other words, sleep mode won't put my computer to sleep.

There are several devices that can wake the PC. Go into Device Manager and check in the power management tab of all devices whether the wakeup option is checked. But leave one device for wakeup (keyboard or mouse).
