Delete Downloads

Hi,
My Downloads folder:
C:\Users\Owner\Downloads
has six folders and sixty five files. These have accumulated over the years. In the interest of neatness I would like to delete them.
Is there any caution that I should be aware of?

Just keep stuff that deals with important issues, confirmations of programs reference registry numbers and such as that, i myself, delete stuff from in there and keep just important program exe.'s . Basically , it is a personal preference as to what you keep, but, i normally delete items that i can easily acquire again.

It can be safely done with diskcleanup. If it does not remove the files that you want, you can safely download and use ccleaner
Delete files using Disk Cleanup

I believe that he is referring to the installers which neither ccleaner nor disk cleanup will touch. Yes they can be deleted but don't delete the folder itself. Keep in mind that if you have to install the programs again you'll need to re-download the installer. If any of them are paid programs you might have to buy it again in order to get the installer.

Transfer the six folders and 65 files to a USB Stick just in case you missed something you needed.
Then use Revo-Unistaller(free) and remove those files/folders.

Just make sure you back up everything before starting.

One last question?
Have you gone through each folder and file to make sure it is something you might need later down the road!
I do a lot of graphics where I am downloading or creating images so I do a monthly house cleaning to get rid of files and folders I will never use again.

And to add again, because i use Fire Fox and all my downloads go to my download folder, mine fills up quickly. Like, how many program exe's are needed.. sheesh. everytime i get a new version, i get , of course , the new program exe in my download folders, so, boom, i am losing old ones every month. Oh. hey, you should see how messed up documents folder can get cluttered with out a good cleaning and such even on a weekly basis.

Programs aren't installed there so revouninstaller shouldn't be needed and he is only asking about that folder and not about uninstalling the programs. These should only be installers which aren't needed after the install is complete.
