Not sure whether I can and/or may use recovery DVD's to install OS onto a new HDD.
Searched this forum a few times for a guidance. But uncertain still.
Desktop machine with Windows Vista Home Premium installed by OEM, purchased approximately two and a half years ago.
Recovery function built in.
In addition, recovery DVD's were burnt right after the purchase of the machine.
These discs have been actually used four times.
A little bit of unpleasant noice from the HDD is recently noticeable sometimes.
I intend to buy a new HDD and have the OS installed or transferred onto it by my recovery DVD's .
This leads to my questions:
1. Is this legitimate?
2. Any side-effects and/or after-effects?
Thanks!
