formatting

Hi, I am trying for the first time to put my pic's onto a disc, as i select windows photo gallery to burn my pictures to disc i first select the pic's i require to burn then click the burn symbol under the symbol Data Disc comes up i click this then after a few mins up pops up a message click to format. After a while a message comes up ( windows could not compleate format) am i doing something wrong?

Are you burning an erasable disc? That's the only reason for a format. I would use
Imgburn as that's the one everyone I know who is serious about multi-media uses.

Generally erasable discs are ok for a test burn. Stick the disc in a DVD player to make sure the movie came out. Then burn to DVD+R. Erasable discs are notorious for being unreadable even on the system that burned them.
