Folders wont open by double clicking

Hello, yesterday my pc got infected with infected with the virus called vista anti-virus. After an hour or so, i got rid of the virus by using MBAM. Now, my problem is that whenever i double click on firefox,MBAM, and several other desktop programs they wont open! To get them to open, i have to right click and run as administrator. Also i've noticed that a few of the icons from the desktop toolbar (from the very bottom of the screen) are missing as well. My question is, how can I get things back to the way they were?

I got it fixed! I downloaded an exe fixer and merged with my registry (as suggested) and that fixed the folder problems and the problem with the icons!
