Hi,

I am new to this forum and looking for a help on the following problem facing in restoring default option for all folders at once.

I have some folders assigned with icons, Title & Subject through desktop.ini placed in each folder.

As soon as i move to explorer window, the particulars assigned above to folders does not reflect until i right click on each folder and pressing restore default for each folder.

What i am looking for an option to do the restore default option to be clicked for each folder at once, & thereby saving my time.

Hope i am able to express what i am seeking for.

Request for help.

Anticipatory thanks!

Thanks richc46 for responding to it.

I did the same as directed in the tutorial, but the problem remains as it is.

I shall endeavor to become more explicit this time.

I have 500 folders in a folder, and all have the desktop.ini file in them, having the Title, Subject, Authors, Tags, & Comments for each folder varying for each folder.

All these desktop.ini were created from some VBA command thru MS excel.

Now as these desktop.ini are there in the folder, then all the folders must show these properties ( Title, Subject, Authors, Tags, & Comments) for each folder in the explorer window.

But the problem is, these properties are not reflecting until i click on the restore default, i.e. through Right click on folder>Properties>Customize>Restore default>apply>OK.

To get the properties reflecting ( Title, Subject, Authors, Tags, & Comments), do i need to do the same for each folder or there is a way to do it for all folders in one go?, or there is any other way through desktop.ini?

Request to help me on this.

Thanks

Hi Sanits591

If the folders are all located in the same directory,
then you can select all folders at once, ( For example, by pressing CTRL + A )
right click on one of the selected folders and then click Properties -> Customize -> Restore Defaults -> Apply -> OK.
Alternative method to select all folders in a folder :
Click on Edit in the menu bar, then Select All.
Then click on File in the menu bar and select Properties.
Wait until Windows has added together all the folder-sizes.
Then click the Customize tab, -> Restore Defaults -> Apply and OK.

Hope this helps.
Sweet
