Print Spooler will not stay set

Been using Vista Bus for a number of years on laptop. Never had a printer until a few weeks ago. Every time I boot computer I need to go to "services" and re-set and start the print spooler so I can print. How can I keep the print spooler set to automatic and in the start mood? Do I have another service set to off that is preventing the spooler from remaining set? Hope there is an easy fix, thanks for any help.......Marv

If you go to Start\Settings\Printers, is your printer set as the default?

Double click on it and select Properties. Go to Advanced. Is it set for "always available"?

Wither 3....thanks for your suggestions. All the setting are as you suggest but only after I enable the print spooler which is necessary upon every boot up. For some reason the services print spooler is not stay set and always reverts to off and manual settings. Got to be a clitch in the services function not the print functions....any other ideas, thanks for your help.....Marv
