I never got Vista reinstall disks with my Gateway GT5692 desktop. It came with Windows Vista Home Premium 64 Bit. I tried installing XP and it got rid of Vista. I found a 32 bit Vista Basic disk and installed that. It worked poorly because of the lack of drivers. I tried using the directions from microsoft on how to reinstall vista from a windows.old file. I also tried using a disk I bought from Neosmart. Now whenever I turn the computer on it goes right into the detecting problems mode, from which it won't leave. I can't press F8 during startup, but I can use F10 to select boot order. I want Vista Home Premium 64 bit back!
