Saving apps from PC to USP Memory Stick

Hi again. Hoping you experts can help me on this one.

I save everything on external hard drives-photo files, docs, browser favourites etc. Can I save apps that I have downloaded such as Google Earth, CC Cleaner, MozBackup etc onto a USB drive?. I realize the implications of the registry on Windows so wonder if this is not possible. I do a full hard drive image weekly onto an external hd but wanted to save these various files on a USB stick as well. The photos etc are no problem of course.

I run a Dell PC Intel Core 2 quad [email protected] 4 GB Ram 32 Bit OS.

Thanks in advance.

I don't see much point in saving program install folders unless the program is a portable app. You may be able to recover from an accidentally deleted program folder or subfolder. Unless you updated something in the program it's probably not worth making a separate copy. Many image backup programs let you mount the image in Explorer so you can copy out the folder if needed.

Programs cannot be transferred to an external. If you should ever reinstall the Operating System or need to reinstall the software, it must be downloaded or reinstalled from the CD/DVD.
